Looks like IDC Hungary has already made it into the news!

We’re excited to see that IDC Hungary has already received some attention in the Hungarian news! Check out the article here! (or the English version below for those who aren’t quite polished in the Hungarian language).

Center of Excellence in Hungary opens an interactive 3D solutions center with  EON Reality of California

An online stereoscopic 3D content editing, sharing, and conferencing system was presented by the local education sector representatives of the California-based EON Reality. Virtual reality based interactive 3D solutions are used for both higher education in secondary schools as well as in primary schools.  EON Reality Chairman Dan Lejerskar pointed out that new technologies must be embraced and utilized to teach today’s learners, as it is often difficult to keep young students engaged. New, more effective tools must be used where visual experiences and interactivity plays a dominant role. For example, if a student reads a book about the biology of the brain, it is extremely difficult for them to envision. However, if the same image is viewed on a tablet PC or a smart phone in 3D, where the student is able to rotate, zoom, and take apart the object, then a completely different experience and knowledge is achieved by the student. 3D technology continues to play a vital role in education as well as other application areas including energy, aviation, medical sector, automotive industry, museums, libraries, etc.

In addition to their Irvine, Ca headquarters, EON Reality currently has an office in Sweden, a development team in Singapore, and 22 centers of excellence worldwide. Dan Lejerskar is hopeful for IDC Hungary’s future as a center of excellence and that it will become a central training center in Europe. Dabas is also expected to open content development vocational training centers in Europe. Currently, 55 countries around the world use the system. EON Reality itself does not provide these services or software as they are provided by local partners. The interactive curriculum is an online library in which individual elements can be sorted and edited, and currently offers complete, visual materials.

Kognitiv Hungary is a domestic partner and external developer of EON Reality.

Students will find this to be a popular platform on which they can can learn, have fun, and communicate with friends. A stereoscopic 3D interactive media is ideally suited to the purpose – said Barnabas Takacs, the Technical University. Of course, nobody knows when these technologies will become mainstream. Technological innovation cannot be the only feature: ease of use, readily available content, and appropriate legal and financial background is heavily required.

EON Icube is the Perfect Marketing Tool for EnCore Aerospace

The EON team recently hosted EnCore Aerospace, a company that specializes in the design, manufacture, tooling and certification of floor to floor interiors for aerospace for an immersive aircraft interior design exploration of a B737 aircraft. By using our interactive display solution, the EON Icube, EnCore Aerospace was able to visually immerse the design team and potential client in an interactive tour of their design.

“Using the Icube at EON Reality was a great marketing tool for EnCore Aerospace.  As we were presenting a “New Look Interior” for a B737 aircraft to one of our customers, there could not have been a better way to show the fit, form and function of each of our components. Our customer actually felt like they were inside their aircraft. In our business it’s very important to show space and how it’s utilized inside an aircraft and with the Icube’s 3D projection you get that perception. In addition with the integration of the software EON use, we are able to make changes on the fly which is another great advantage for the customer,” said Stan Fisher, VP of Sales and Marketing, EnCore Aerospace.

Hone your Interview Skills with the Virtual Job Interview Simulator

Sure, there are many ways you can prepare for a job interview.. but why not take it to the next level by practicing in front of a virtual interview panel?

The Association Promouvoir la Réalité Virtuelle (Interactive Digital Center in Clermont Ferrand, France), together with Athalia, an HR training and consulting agency, recently introduced a virtual job interview simulator in which real candidates face a virtual jury made of remotely controlled avatars which ask questions and interact with the candidates based on their answers.  The candidate is placed within an immersive Icube, surrounded by stereoscopic 3D projection on three walls and the floor, in front of a scale 1:1 jury.

“This facility is far more interesting than just a PC screen, because it generates emotional feelings and responses from the candidate,” said Laurent Baleydier, Director of APRV. “Every head movement is tracked by 9 cameras and computers calculate the right point of view every hundredth of a second, this creating a highly realistic environment.  The result is a sense of realism, and job seekers who have tested the Icube were really amazed.”

For Bertrand Tabellion, Director of Athalia, the immersive 3D simulator offers many benefits. “All candidates are evaluated under the exact same conditions: it is a fair system by definition. Moreover, instead of mobilizing many people in the jury, we need one single operator only to control their reactions.”

The system is in fact controlled remotely using a touch pad that offers the full range of emotions and a series of predefined questions. “From time to time, we need to intervene physically to re-launch the interview process, because nothing can replace the recruiter’s sense of repartee! Most of the simulation is automated, and we will soon offer new versions with enhanced interactivity,” continued Mr. Tabellion.

EON Reality makes an appearance at ASPAC 2012!

EON Reality’s Singapore team recently participated in the Asia Pacific Network of Science & Technology Centres (ASPAC) Conference at Science Centre Singapore, an annual event that welcomes visionaries, leaders, and innovators from science centres and museums around the world to gather and share ideas, exchange knowledge, and showcase new innovations. This year’s ASPAC conference focused on the presentation and discussion of new generation technologies and how they can be introduced to Generation Y.

Showcased at ASPAC 2012 was the EON Interactive Mirror, our newest Kinect-based augmented reality display that allows users to try on different clothes and accessories virtually and on-the-go.  Also showcased was EON Artificial I, a stereo display solution that allows users to experience smart, interactive 3D content floating in space- both in and out of the screen. EON Artificial I offers the ultimate 3D viewing experience with brilliant brightness, eye-popping stereo features, enhanced graphics for high quality 3D effects, and full contrast.

EON Reality’s Managing Director, Sridhar Sunkad, also delivered a presentation entitled “Interactive 3D Technologies for Better Learning Experiences”, in which he discussed the tools needed to create, share, explore, and deliver 3D lessons on the EON Experience portal, an online 3D content library hosting 1000’s of 3D models, scenes, and components.  According to Sunkad, the opportunity to speak at ASPAC was a great way to share a variety of virtual 3D learning content and technologies, along with other playful 3D user experiences.
